ZINESKOLA FEST

CALL FOR FILM AND EDUCATION FESTIVAL

PARTICIPATION RULES

Begira Elkartea is an association that works in the field of social and cultural innovation. The association is strongly committed to art and creativity in order to develop transformative educational programs. This year we launched a call to participate in ZineskolaFest, a film and education festival aimed at students from schools in the Basque Country. An innovative educational proposal in which works made by the students of Infant, Primary, Secondary, High School and Vocational Training can be presented.

We want the ZineskolaFest to become an important tool of creativity and expression for the students and an interesting transversal didactic instrument in which the different experiences of knowledge such as literature, music, art or new technologies can converge. It is also a program designed for educators who accompany students in the learning process, for families and researchers related to education and knowledge without borders.

ZineskolaFest in its fifth edition becomes a competition with three sections for short films and Book Trailer made in educational environments.

  • Short films or Book Trailers made by students in infant and primary education up to the age of 12.

  • Short films or Book Trailers made by high school students up to the age of 16.

  • Short films or Book Trailers made by bachelor, Professional development and EPA students.

The maximum length of the short films will be 12 minutes, in the case of the Book Trailer it will be 2 minutes.

In the short films will be valued especially the micro stories related to human rights and in the Book Trailer as a device to promote reading, will be valued references to a story or literary work of any genre also related to human rights. In both cases, works produced in Basque, Spanish or English will be accepted.

As these are educational productions, the participatory role will correspond to the students, although in the processes of coordination, mediation or production the students may be accompanied by the teaching team of the schools.

In each of the three sections, categories are established according to the language in which the works are presented, Basque, Spanish or English.  There will be a recognition to the best works presented in each of the categories consisting of a trophy and a set of audiovisual material for the educational centre to which the awarded students belong.

All works selected to participate in ZineskolaFest will receive a diploma and a ticket package to attend a screening in a cinema.

Short films must be submitted digitally via Wetransfer, FTP, Drive, Dropbox...

REGISTRATIONS

The formalization of the inscriptions of the piece to be presented to the festival -one inscription per audiovisual piece- will take place until October 15th, 2020. The school itself will also be responsible for processing the authorisations with the legal representatives of the minors, as well as the personal details of the participating students that appear on the registration and on the credits.
